Area Zero-D’Amico-Bottecchia wrapped up their Croatian transfer in the fifth and last stage of the Tour of Croatia, which featured the final finish line in the capital city of Zagabria.
RusVelo rider Roman Maikin came in third in the fifth and final stage of the Tour of Croatia, set between the cities of Sveti Martin and Zagreb over 177 km-long predominantly flat course with a technical cobblestone uphill finish.
The reigning stage in the Tour of Croatia was full of excitement. The 3rd stage lasted 228 km between Plitvice and Ucka (Vojak), and featured an uphill arrival on Monte Maggiore at an altitude of over1300 metres.
RusVelo rider Roman Maikin came in third in the sprint battle of stage two of the UCI 2.1 Tour of Croatia. 180 km between the cities of Sibenik and Zadar finished in a couple of tight, highly technical city laps.
“The first two stages were very challenging. Yesterday and today the peloton travelled at a very fast average pace, not leaving much room for breaks,” explains Sport Director Massimo Codol.
