Area Zero-D’Amico-Bottecchia wrapped up their Croatian transfer in the fifth and last stage of the Tour of Croatia, which featured the final finish line in the capital city of Zagabria.
RusVelo rider Roman Maikin came in third in the fifth and final stage of the Tour of Croatia, set between the cities of Sveti Martin and Zagreb over 177 km-long predominantly flat course with a technical cobblestone uphill finish.
The reigning stage in the Tour of Croatia was full of excitement. The 3rd stage lasted 228 km between Plitvice and Ucka (Vojak), and featured an uphill arrival on Monte Maggiore at an altitude of over1300 metres.
“The first two stages were very challenging. Yesterday and today the peloton travelled at a very fast average pace, not leaving much room for breaks,” explains Sport Director Massimo Codol.
