In ten days’ time, Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO MIPIM 2015 will set off from central London for the tenth time. This year’s event will depart on Thursday 5th March, arriving 1,500km and six days later in Cannes on Tuesday 10th March.

This year’s Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO MIPIM 2014 exceeded all expected targets, raising more than £250,000 for charities in the UK and abroad thanks to a combination of generous personal and commercial sponsorship.

The final day of Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO CANNES began early with a 6am departure for the riders. It was up to the riders to choose which stages they wanted to do, but once they were out, they were out for the duration.

Monday 10th March began an hour later for the sleep-deprived peloton and the extra time in bed was much appreciated. Stage 1, for teams Nottingham and Aedas, left Valence for a ride in the early morning sun to Cleon D’Andran, 49.5km away. Sunday's Stage 1 began with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday for Christian Coy, more commonly known as 'Moustache', one of the most-recognisable motorbike outriders and a big character on the event, who has ridden CYCLE TO MIPIMs since it began.

At 6am on the morning of Day Three, Saturday 8th March, the peloton left Reims, the home of Veuve Cliquot, in midnight blue. As the day unfolded and the sun rose, the famous Champagne countryside was revealed in glorious blue and gold, and the temperature increased, lifting the mist off the vines to create a magical atmosphere.

Day Two was an early start for the Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO MIPIM riders, with an alarm call at 4.45am, so that everyone was ready to depart on Stage 1 at 6am.

The first day of the Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO MIPIM was remarkable for the sunshine and the smiles that came with the favourable weather conditions, and happily uneventful with a smooth ride that took the riders out of rush hour London to Folkestone.
