The biggest race in women’s cycling ended on Sunday in San Domenica di Varzo. The race which took place over ten days saw team leader Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio finish fourth overall.
The Bigla Pro Cycling Team received unfortunate news today when it learned that some of its Cervélo road and time trial bicycles and wheels were stolen in Milano, Italy, in transit during the Giro Rosa.
Stage 5 of the Giro Rosa saw the first mountaintop finish as the race finished in Aprica. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio crossed the line in fifth place on the stage.
Stage two of the Giro Rosa turned out to be a decisive day for the overall contenders. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio showed good form when she made a select lead group and sprinted to third on the stage.
The Giro Rosa gets underway on Friday, 3 July and will run until 12 July. In an exciting start to the race, the opening prologue will be held in the evening with Ljubljana, Slovenia chosen as the departure.
