Nibali Takes Giro Lead in Huge Comeback

GIRO'16 St.20 Race Report: Vincenzo Nibali staged one of cycling's biggest comebacks on this penultimate day, attacking race leader Esteban Chavez inside 20km to take a commanding lead as the race is all but over.

Roadside From The Cima Coppi

Giro'16 ROADSIDE: We'd gambled on a big attack by Chaves at high altitude, today. It didn't come and yet again, Kruijswijk looked strong as a beast within 1500 metres of the Giro's highest point - the 2744 metre Colle Dell'Agnello. Little did we know that minutes after the maglia rosa passed us he'd crash on the descent and the race would be turned on its head.

GIRO’16 St.19: Shark Attack As Kruijswijk Crashes!

Race Report: Stage 19 was a day of high mountains and high drama as the race passed over the Cima Coppi. Unable to lose Kruijswijk on the climb, it was an unfortunate crash on the descent that saw the Dutchman chasing and losing time all the way into France. Nibali could smell victory for both the stage and the overall and set about re-establishing his enviable reputation as a Grand Tour winner!

The 2016 Giro d'Italia comes to its grand finalé in the northern City of Turin on Sunday, but there is much more to the Piedmont region than big mountain climbs. Peter Easton of VeloClassic Tours takes us on a culinary and cultural journey through Torino as the peloton readies its self for the last battles.

GIRO’16 Roadside: The Crazy Cobbles Of Pinerolo!

GIRO’16 St.18: Trentin Torpedos Break In Pinerolo!

Race Report: Stage 18 of the Giro d'Italia was a day for the breakaway and it looked like a two-way battle for the win as they came to the line. One rider had read a different script though and Matteo Trentin ambushed the lead pair just before the line to take a beautiful win ahead of two days in the Alps. Gianluca Brambilla had seen him coming and was just as happy to see his teammate take the win!

Giro’16: The Pra’Martino Preview

Stage Preview: Stage 18 from Muggio to Pinerolo features two very tough little climbs right at the end - the Par'Martino, and the San Maurizio. I rode these when the Giro finished here in 2009. The difference this time is they're being taken in reverse, turning what was a tough climb followed a very dangerous descent into an even tougher climb with a still challenging drop through narrow, twisty wooded roads, and a 20% kicker to finish it off.

GIRO’16 Roadside: The Flat Before The Storm!

PEZ Roadside: Stage 17 and Ed Hood moves on from one set of mountains to bit of flat-land before the next section of climbing cruelty... for the riders. On a transition stage like this you need to take in as much as you can and Ed doesn't disappoint; bikes, busses and team bosses... and a bit of racing. It's all roadside.
