We all know the name Pat McQuaid from his time as president of the UCI at a time of many 'problems'. Many know nothing of his history and a family steeped in Irish cycling. Ed Hood caught up with Pat to hear more.

At one time there was a strong home professional scene in Britain and up to the early 90's there was a full calendar for the 'paid class' riders. One of the top winners was 'Super Sid' Barras, there are not many riders out there with such a full palmarès.

John Herety was one of the 'British Foreign Legion' when he was a Continental pro. He led the way for many Brit riders through the famous ACBB. After Euro success John returned to race on home roads before moving into team management and more success. Ed Hood caught up with John for a chat over old times.

Rider Interview: It's always good to talk to someone that has more than cycling in their life, and New Zealander Nathan Dahlberg is one of those men. He raced with 7-Eleven and Motorola and had a long and successful career, travelling all over the world.

Interview: Before the likes of Sky and Ineos, there was a British Pro team in the Tour de France. There had been National teams in the French Grand Tour, but when the organisers returned to sponsored teams, it looked like the dream of a 'British' équipe had gone. Then came along Tony Capper and ANC. Mickey Morrison was in there at the start of the 1987 Tour Journey.

Retro Interview: There are not many Irishmen that have won the prestigious British multi-stage Milk Race... Well, actually there has only been one - Conor Henry. There have been many top riders from the Emerald Isle, and Conor showed so much class and talent beating the professionals in 1992, so what happened? Ed Hood finds out.

Strong performances at home and abroad capped a great week of racing for Rapha Condor JLT, with Richard Handley finishing an excellent fourth overall at the An Post Rás in Ireland, and Felix English scoring a win in the Milk Race, in Nottingham.
