After a new bike, new shoes are right up there to make you feel like you can conquer the world. If you're looking at the best that different manufacturers have to offer (and want to channel your favorite pro rider), then have a look at the new Shimano S-PHYRE RC902 top tier road cycling shoe.
More great and new kit: Tubolito light weight tubes, La Passione DUO Collection: Plenty of cool combinations for a bright look, Continental rolls out new category of tire with the Ruban and eRuban Plus, Sidi Sixty Multicolor, the new LDT inspired by the nineties, Zipp hookless technology video and happy 100th birthday Shimano.
Today's Readers' Rig machine is possibly a record breaker for this column. No it's not the fastest, not the prettiest and certainly not the lightest machine we've had featured but this Lotus Supreme is quite possibly the longest owned rig being bought by owner Mario way back in 1985 and ridden almost daily since.
New from Shimano, the S-PHYRE RC902 road shoes, Crow Bicycles ultralight eGravel bike, Breakaway® Muck Insulated bottle from Polar Bottle, Lizard Skins Utility Strap, Five Ten Freerider Primeblue shoes and GU Energy Labs new energy drink mix flavor.
More new cycling related kit: DeFeet introduces socks for health care workers and medical professionals, Stolen Goat Raggamuffin Orkaan cycling jersey, new Shimano IC1 shoes set the standard for indoor cycling, new Michael Blann prints available, Smith Optics Attack Max Rx long term review video and Giro Xnetic H2O gloves.
To celebrate his fiftieth birthday, Richard from Sheffield in the U.K treated himself to a beautiful custom bike from the guys at Field Cycles that he tried to build up with as many local components as possible all the while keeping the bike modern, classy and sporty. Objective achieved I'd say.
Today we look at an iconic Readers' Rig. A custom steel bike, based on a Shimano promotional poster from the '80s. With the frame copied perfectly, the owner himself then hit the spraybooth to paint his creation with the result being such a cool bike that Shimano themselves bought it and now have it displayed in their bike museum in Japan!
Something a bit different this week: A full on time trial machine. We take a close look at British and World Transplant Championship winner Graham Strugnell’s Dolan Scala TT machine. Nothing off the peg here - Equipment selected for aero efficiency and functionality. It's fast and it looks good too!
