One of the most beautiful races of the year is without a doubt the Strade Bianche on the now mythical white gravel roads. The women rode Strade Bianche for the first time. This race of 103 kilometres took the riders from San Gimignano tot the Piazza del Campo in Siena.

San Gimignano, 6 March 2015 - Tomorrow the famous white roads of Tuscany will host the 9th edition of ‘Europe's southernmost Northern Classic’, Strade Bianche Eroica Pro, organised by RCS Sport/La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Strade Bianche has in just a handful of editions done what no other young race has before - shouldered its way into the leagues of bona-fide Monuments where the course is what gives it a true identity. Dirt roads, never ending hills, and a landscape as only a true 'vedutista' could paint, it's no wonder the race is a fave among riders and fans alike.

This Saturday the 9th Strade Bianche heads off from San Gimignano to cross the 'White Roads' before finishing in the historic city of Siena. Our man in Italy, Alessandro Federico (and his bike), covered the last 20 kilometers to take in the final climbs and those dirt roads in his Tuscan homeland.
