TDF’16 St.7: Cummings Comes Home!

Race Report: Steve Cummings made the Aspin look easy as he distanced his 28 breakaway rivals to take a famous victory and double up for Dimension Data. In a fast and hard fight, Cummings was in the action from the start and finished the job off perfectly with strength and cunning.

TDF’16 St.6: Cavendish Completes the Triple!

Race Report: Looking and looking for Cavendish, the diminutive Manxman popped out at the last moment and drag-raced Kittel to the finish, taking his third stage of this Tour, his 29th overall and promptly dedicating the win to his new niece. Into a fantastic third spot ahead of such names as Kristoff was Dan McLay and he must surely be a name for future glory.

TDF’16 St.5: Victorious Van Avermaet!

Race Report: The day belonged to Greg Van Avermaet as he infiltrated the break of the day then split the group to weed-out the non-workers. Thomas De Gendt took the mountains points and helped to keep the lead with Andriy Grivko, before Van Avermaet left his compatriot for the stage win and the yellow jersey.

TDF’16 St.4: Kittel Leaves It Late!

Race Report: Another photo finish, but today it was the immaculately-thatched Marcel Kittel getting the win by what looked like a hair’s breadth ahead of Bryan Coquard. It was a slow-burner of a stage, with a four-man escape hogging most of the day’s spotlight. Then the sprinters got their chance.

TDF’16 St.1: Cav Storms Utah Beach!

Race Report: At the end of a strangely subdued Stage 1 of the 2016 Tour de France it was the man many of us felt had won his last Tour stage, Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data & Isle of Man) who was best of the very best leaving Marcel Kittel, Peter Sagan and Andre Greipel in his jet wash to take the stage and the maillot jaune with a burst of speed harping back to his heyday.
