The first big mountain day saw a Frenchman live the dream. Nans Peters was in the big break of the day then dropped Ilnur Zakarin before the Peyresourde to solo to the finish in Loudenvielle. Adam Yates held onto the yellow jersey by the skin of his teeth.

Le TOUR’20 Stage 7: Wouble Wout!

Stage 7 was a day of cross-winds and losses for those who missed the important echelons. One man who made sure he was to the fore was Wout Van Aert and then the man on form made sure of the sprint win. Adam Yates finished 9th on the stage and held the overall lead.

Le Tour’20 Stage 6: Lone Ranger Lutsenko!

The sixth stage of the Tour de France saw Alexey Lutsenko solo to the finish on Mont Aigoual. The Kazakh champion was part of the early break and he turned out to be the strongest rider on the stiff final climb of the Col de la Lusette. The favourites for the GC held back, except Julian Alaphilippe who made a last metre attack. Adam Yates remains overall leader.

Jumbo-Visma pulled off a double with Primoz Roglič yesterday and Wout Van Aert today. The Belgian cyclo-cross king worked hard for his leader on stage 4 and then whooped the uphill sprint on stage 5. Julian Alaphilippe lost the yellow jersey due to a time penalty, but his teammate, Sam Bennett, took the green jersey. Adam Yates now leads the 2020 Tour de France.

Stage 4 had the first summit finished of the 2020 Tour de France and fireworks were predicted for the final kilometres. The top men didn't disappoint and Primoz Roglič came out on top. Julian Alaphilippe finished at the front to hold his overall lead.

Stage 3 was one of the few sprinter's days. At the end of another wet ride, Caleb Ewan pushed his way through a messy finalé for the victory. The little Australian got the better of Ireland's Sam Bennett and European champion Giacomo Nizzolo. Julian Alaphilippe held the overall lead.
