Since last Saturday's Tour de France stunning stage 20 time trial, the race against the clock has been on everyones lips. So, we've been gathering the thoughts of Nikolai Razouvaev again, this time the Russian 'in the know' looks at the time trial bike. The pros and the cons - but mostly the cons.
Filippo Ganna won the World championship time trial for men in his home land of Italy. The time trial specialist was by far the fastest in the time trial of 31.7 kilometres, starting and finishing on the Imola circuit. Wout van Aert took the silver medal after a very strong ride in the second part of the test. Bronze for Stefan Küng.
Anna van der Breggen became World time trial champion for the first time in her career on Thursday afternoon. The Dutch girl beat Swiss rider Marlen Reusser into the silver medal position. Van Breggen's teammate, Ellen van Dijk, took the bronze medal. Top favourite Chloé Dygert had a high speed crash and was unable to finish.
Although most of the really cool team gear doesn’t come out until just before the Tour, the early season is a good time to see what new stuff (if any) they're using. At the recent Tour of the Mediterranean, PEZ plundered the pits to find the new toys for the pro boys. Part 1 takes us into the fast moving world of Time Trial Bikes.
