There is a very special jersey that, once you win it at a one day event, it is yours for a year wherever you race. This jersey, is of course, the glorious rainbow-striped confection first donned by Alfredo Binda in 1927. Its fascinating history is the subject of “Chasing the Rainbow: The Story of Road Cycling's World Championships” by Giles Belbin.

Multi World champion at 23 years-old, there are not many people who can make that claim, but Chloe Dygert Owen from Brownsburg, Indiana in the USA can. From junior World road race champion in 2015 to elite World individual pursuit champion in 2020, with quite few in-between.

The city of Fiesole presented today in the Casa Marchini Carrozza the official courses for the UCI Road World Championships. Fiesole, along with Lucca, Montecatini Terme, Pistoia and Florence will be one of the hosts of the competition, which will also be an occasion for these cities to experience this quintessential sports event.
