A pair of little-known riders - Belgian Brecht Dhaene and Italian Elana Cecchini - scored big upsets Saturday at the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic criteriums.

American Travis McCabe of Team SmartStop Pro Cycling used a perfectly-timed attack on the final climb to solo to victory Friday in the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic men's professional road race.

American Shelley Olds (Alé Cipollini-Galassia) won a bunch sprint finale of the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic women's professional road race on Friday. Olds beat Canadian Joelle Numainville (Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) and Eugenia Bujak of Poland (BTC City Ljubljana) to the line at the end of the 91-kilometer race that comprised eight laps of an 11.5-km circuit.

Cycling fans around the globe can watch the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic road races on Friday and Saturday's criteriums via the USA CRITS Championship Series YouTube channel.

Some of the top professional cyclists from around the globe will be on the start line later this week for the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic in North Carolina.
