Men's Elite Road Race: Alejandro Valverde finally claimed his first World Championships at 38 years of age after a fantastic race in Austria which turned into one of the best day's of racing of the whole year. Canada's Michael Woods set the finalé on fire with Romain Bardet (France), but it was the man from Spain who swooped to the victory.
