MAAP: New Season, New Pursuits
MAAP Debuts Their Most Comprehensive Road Collection Yet. Empowering Riders in a Collective “Pursuit of Progression” in Whichever Corner of the Planet They Choose to Ride.

maap

For the first road cycling collection of 2023, MAAP are focusing on the pursuit of progression. Going beyond performance goals, the pursuit of progression is also about a wider desire to do better; for ourselves, the people around us and our planet.

maap

With those fundamental goals in mind, the new season of road clothing features more recycled fabric content than ever before, as a small but important step towards sustainability which guides the company every day.

maap

“We believe that progression itself is the ambition, a continual exercise in innovation and betterment,” said Oliver Cousins, co-founder of MAAP. “For example, our transition from virgin to Sustainably Preferred Materials (SPM) is not in itself the end goal, but an important progression towards greater positive impact with the planet we all share.”

maap

As Cousin’s states, The Evade Jersey, one of MAAP’s most popular with riders – available in long and short-sleeve silhouettes – is now made with Sustainably Preferred Materials (SPM) using over 70% Italian-made recycled nylon in the primary body, adding a strong push towards reducing environmental impact. Along with the new materials, both Evade and Evolve jerseys kick off the season in a suite of new colourways. The Evade line will also re-introduce off-bike apparel, including sweats, tees, hoodies, beanies and caps. All-gender kit that has any rider covered whatever their off-bike pursuits.

maap

New for this season, MAAP introduces the Women’s Short Team Bib Evo. Ergonomically designed in a female-specific cut, the updated bib features a new style with a 5cm shorter leg length, silicone-patterned leg band and higher-cut mesh waist alongside the same breathable and moisture-wicking materials riders can expect from Team Bib Evo.

maap

As any committed rider can agree, progression never stops, no matter what the weather throws at them. Evade thermal long-sleeve jerseys, windproof Draft jackets and vests for damp conditions, are all released in a set of new colours to aid riders as they transition into a new season. And as some parts of the southern hemisphere move into the deep winter season, there are new colours of waterproof Prime jackets and vests plus refreshed versions of the brand’s two top-end jackets; Ascend, for heavier rain and wind, and Apex, the warmest riding jacket in the range.

maap

Dropping later in March will be the Sphere collection, MAAP’s own visual and technical progression on the Emblem capsule released in 2022. The Sphere Pro Hex Jersey 2.0 features an exclusive MAAP hex-tech sleeve for aero optimisation alongside breathable micro-perforated fabric on the back and side panels. Featuring an upgraded bonded front hem, larger pockets with anti-sag material and UPF 50+ sun protection factor, the Sphere Pro Hex Jersey is ready to ride.

Personal Leaderboards Gives Zwifters A New Way to Analyze Ride Data
New Companion App feature lets Zwifters compare and track their progress on segments over time

zwift

Zwift, the global online fitness platform for cyclists, triathletes, and runners, is excited to launch new Leaderboards in their latest update to the Zwift Companion App.

zwift

The new Personal Leaderboards, first announced in December’s This Season on Zwift, will give Zwifters the opportunity to compare their times on segments, tracking progress over time, and giving them a new way to analyze ride data.

To access Personal Leaderboards, Zwifters will go to the “More” section of their Zwift Companion App, and will then be able to select from each of Zwift’s worlds, see which routes have been completed in each, and then select routes. Once in an individual segment, efforts will be broken down into quarters, and times will be displayed on a chart for easy viewing. Zwifters can also click into each effort to see an overview of the ride on which they set that time.

Segment times for all Zwifters are now available in Personal Leaderboards, with times going back to each rider’s first day on Zwift.

zwift

Zwift’s Companion App is the perfect complement to Zwift, allowing riders to interact with others on the platform via in-app messaging. Zwift Companion also allows riders to share Zwift’s distinctive Ride On – a sign of camaraderie and encouragement – change camera angles and capture images, navigate, and create and join clubs.

To check out Personal Leaderboards, Zwifters should make sure their Companion App is updated to 3.44.

gaerne

Niccolò Bonifazio: “I have the chance to use the new model G. STL of Gaerne, which is both comfortable and rigid. For a sprinter like me, that’s perfect. There’s no loss of power during this violent effect thanks to this rigidity and the carbon sole. I also feel the advantages uphill, thanks to the BOA closing system, which secures the shoe around the foot. I noticed that this model is lighter than the previous models I used a couple of years ago. Gaerne innovated a lot and today we can rely on high performance models such as this one. Thanks to an individual follow-up, Gaerne offers tailor-made shoes for each rider. We can comfortably go all out on the bike!”

gaerne

Ernesto Gazzola (President Gaerne): “We are delighted to welcome Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, they are one of the most competitive teams in the peloton. We are proud of this new cooperation and we are looking forward to achieve accomplishments which are important both for Gaerne and for the team and to celebrate new victories together with them! “

gaerne

Since the beginning, Gaerne started producing good quality mountain footwear. In the following years, along with the firm’s growth, the production was diversified into other sectors, motorcycling boots in the mid-Seventies and then cycling shoes in the mid-Eighties.
