fizik Vento Stabilita Carbon Team Edition shoes: A Striking Design for Definitive Victories
Finish Lines Favor the Bold
Get to know our Vento Stabilita Carbon Team Edition.
In close competitions, milliseconds can mean the difference between victory and defeat, which is why we designed our Stabilita range to provide uncompromising support for improved power transfer that maximizes every pedal stroke. Of course, it’s also nice to look good coming across the line, so we gave our innovative Road Shoe a style all its own with Vento Stabilita Carbon Team Edition.
Dynamic Arch Support 2.0
Every useful watt of power generated while cycling is transferred to the bike through the soles of the feet. When the plantar fascia is properly supported, the medial arch stiffens, allowing for efficient power transfer. Because of this, providing adjustable arch support is vital for both comfort and performance in a competitive cycling shoe.
Improving Support While Adapting
Individually adjusted for precision fit with the BOA® Fit System, the Dynamic Arch Support 2.0 system is a fully integrated feature of our new carbon outsoles with a dedicated portion of the shoe’s upper wrapping around the plantar arch for improved support while adapting to each rider’s unique foot shape.
Volume Control System
Adding to this, our Volume Control system allows for differentiated fit adjustments for both the instep and forefoot areas — the shape and volume of which can vary widely between riders. By controlling two separate BOA® dials, cyclists can fine-tune shoe fit to their unique foot shape, ensuring maximum performance and support, featuring the new Li2 Dual Zone BOA® Fit System configuration with a smaller control-dial diameter and a lower, more aerodynamic profile.
Comfortable Laminated Upper
The shoe’s upper is made of a resilient polyurethane-laminated material combined over a comfortable mesh, resulting in reduced yield and providing long-lasting foot support where it’s needed most.
Carbon Fibre Outsole
Everything in this innovative racing shoe is engineered for ultimate power transfer, from the advanced fitting features to the new outsole: an engineered carbon fibre layup that saves weight and delivers increased stiffness; with an index of 10, this outsole is the stiffest in the fizik range.
Optimize Pedalling Efficiency
A wide vent inlet and deep internal channelling provide cooling airflow for enhanced temperature control. The cleat positioning is set slightly further back compared to traditional settings to optimize pedalling efficiency and reduce knee compression, especially well-suited to very aggressive, forward aero riding positions.
- PU laminated mesh upper
- Li2 Dual Zone BOA® Fit System configuration
- R1 Arch outsole – full carbon unidirectional, stiffness index 10
- Weight: 227g (size 42 – 1/2 pair)
- Sizes: 36-48 (37 to 47 also in half sizes)
- Vento: performance racing series designed in collaboration with professional cyclists

Our man in Spain, Alastair Hamilton, has been wearing a pair for a few months, PEZ sez: It wasn’t long after I wrote my review of the S-Works Torch shoes that I saw the Vento Stabilita Carbon Team Edition with their half sole and strap system. In my S-Works review I mention my feet want to twist inwards and that the heel cup of the Torch held it straight. Well, the strap and sole of the fizik Stabilita also lift and hold the instep/arch of the foot which keeps the foot in the right position.
The heel cup is similar to the Torch, plus there are small rubber ‘dots’ on the inside of the ankle tab which stops the foot lifting out from the cup.
There is two insoles which flex at the instep as you tighten the strap using the BOA Fit System, this holds everything in place. And of course you can rely on BOA to do the job it’s meant for. Also under the second insole there is access to a retaining screw that hold the replaceable heel pad, if you wear it out.
There is no mistaking the shoes, as ‘STABILITA’ is written the full length. I quite like it and they are not the only cycling shoes on the market with writing on them.
So, how do they feel out on the road? The foot feels comfortable and secure. You feel the extra pressure on your instep, it doesn’t feel tight on the heel, but it doesn’t move around too much and in my case there is no twisting of the foot. I did find that I was putting the BOA’s to good use, as I got used to the feel of the shoes, I was tightening them up on the move.
As you would expect from a modern carbon sole shoe, they are stiff, but the double insole does takeaway any harshness and so they are responsive and comfortable at the same time. They are slightly heavier than the Torch, but I didn’t notice. I though the laminated uppers would be too hot for this part of Spain, but the temperatures were up to 40ºC in August and September and there was no overheating. The strapping on the instep could possibly be the reason for the extra ventilation where only being half a sole.
Overall conclusions: Yes, the system works for me. If you do have any kind of foot/instep problem, I would have a look at the fizik Stabilita they could solve your problem. I did my on-line homework first to see if they would help and I was pleased with the result. If you just want your foot to held in place with security and a sold carbon sole, they do that too.
Bonus? They are white.
Lezyne: Pocket Drive Pro HV
The Pocket Drive Pro HV is an amazingly compact and lightweight bike hand pump that’s small but still manages to dish out plenty of pumping efficiency for high-volume tires, such as those found on gravel and mountain bikes.
It’s entirely constructed from durable CNC-machined aluminum and has a barrel that’s lightly knurled for slip-resistant operation. With its overlapping handle and integrated ABS Flex Hose, the Pocket Drive Pro HV offers performance unmatched for its size. The hose also includes an integrated valve core tool. The pump is Presta and Schrader valve compatible and is completely rebuildable for years of worry-free use.
Sportful: Introducing the Tortoise and Hare Collection
The new limited edition kit featuring longtime friends Chef Chris Cosentino’s cycling mood and the Artist Jeremy Fish’s iconic illustrations perfectly encapsulates Bay-Area-cool while delivering the high end performance Sportful customers expect.
The idea for the jersey goes beyond visual look and carries a valuable life lesson learned through cycling by the celebrity chef, who suggests that in real life there is more to it than just “slow and steady wins the race”.
The iconic wallpaper-like pattern of the jersey features the busts of Northern Californian animals, the boar and the quail, along with the Tortoise and the Hare, all framed in wreaths of poison oak.
This custom collection is now available, check it out!
“In real life, the Hare wins, and the Tortoise is last, but I see it a different way . They both win their own way; the Hare goes full gas, head-down from start to finish, while the Tortoise chooses to be a diesel engine, stays true to his pace, and enjoys the journey. It’s fun to be the Hare sometimes, but I say let’s all be a little more like the Tortoise and remember it’s about the journey to get there and enjoying the ride, not the final destination”. Chris Cosentino.
ACRE by Mission Workshop’s Altosphere Collection

Body Rocket – Bicycle Mounted Wind Tunnel Company Sets Sights on US Investment Following Successful £430k UK and EU Raise
Body Rocket, the tech startup behind the world’s first and only real-time aerodynamic drag force measurement system for cyclists and triathletes, has declared its recent UK and EU raise a resounding success, having attracted £430k ($493k) from more than 190 investors.
Wind tunnels are widely considered the gold standard in accurately measuring aerodynamics. However, as there are only a limited number in existence, these facilities can be expensive to use and are often reserved for athletes at the very top level of sport, despite being the most sought-after performance gain for road cyclists and triathletes around the world. Even if access weren’t an issue, effectively interpreting the complex data a wind tunnel session provides is beyond most amateur and even professional athletes and is limited to reporting on static, laboratory conditions which don’t always translate to riding in the real world.
Body Rocket aims to address this with its patented system of sensors which provide easily comprehensible wind tunnel accurate aerodynamics feedback to the rider, in real-time and in real world conditions. Not only does this reduce reliance on wind tunnels and put comparable technology within reach of a far greater number of athletes but it also allows for the testing of equipment, body positioning and even race tactics outside in the same environment in which the athlete will compete. Rather than a one-off visit to a wind tunnel, riders are able to use Body Rocket on a daily basis over a longer period, which provides a far more meaningful set of data that the athlete can learn from and make regular, incremental adjustments.
Following in the footsteps of heart rate monitors in the early 80’s, which subsequently ceded ground to power meters throughout the past two decades, it’s now rare to find a regular cyclist or triathlete who doesn’t own at least one of these products for use in training or competition. Body Rocket opens up a whole new category of both amateur and professional performance, at a level which is highly attainable for many. With the rider’s body accounting for 80% of drag, providing instant feedback on position allows for unprecedented access to performance improvements.
Not just limited to consumer sales, there is a significant opportunity for Body Rocket to license its technology to bike, power meter, cycling component and cycling apparel companies looking to validate and authenticate their aerodynamic claims using empirical data. Coaches, sport scientists and bike fitters will also be able to utilise the technology to optimise performance.
Identifying North America as a key market for Body Rocket, the UK based brand has now set its sights on attracting US investors, in part by supporting athlete partners and newly crowned Ironman World Champion Gustav Iden and Olympic Champion Kristian Blummenfelt during their key US competitions.
Eric DeGolier, Founder of Body Rocket, said: “Having already attracted investment in the UK and Europe, we are excited to be extending our equity opportunity to the USA. This comes at a crucial time for Body Rocket as we continue to work with some of the world’s best athletes, expand our testing programme and use these essential funds to complete the tooling and launch the finished product in 2023.”
- Body Rocket is the world’s first real-time aerodynamic drag force measurement system for cyclists and triathletes
- Ironman World Champion Gustav Iden and Olympic Champion Kristian Blummenfelt amongst list of Athlete Partners
- Recent raise totalled £430k ($493k) from more than 190 UK and EU investors
