CyclePassion Calendar
This is the 8th cyclepassion calendar. It was produced by Anke Wilken (founder), Daniel Geiger (photography) and Markus Neuert (cyclefilm). The 2013 edition of cyclepassion’s calendar again displays some of the top female athletes from all over the world. Including the London Olympic gold medalist (team track) Kristina Vogel.
Miss October, German MTB’er Nadine Rieder getting up close and personal with a tyre.
After great positive feedback about double-printing last year, we kept this concept for cyclepassion 2013. Side one features mostly full-color, sexy (yet tasteful) photographs of each athlete, while the side two explores the ladies’ professional life with black and white race photographs. We also added a small story about each athlete. Revealing more information about the athlete as a person with a regular life and motivation beyond racing and winning.
The double-sided print means there are twice as many photos. These professionally produced and printed twelve month calendars are provided in a large 68 x 40 cm (27 x 16″) format.

Vйlo Book By Paul Fournel
Bike books always make a great gift for the cycling fan at Christmas time and the new book, ‘Vйlo’ by Paul Fournel is one that I wouldn’t mind having in my stocking this year,
“Vйlo is a unique look at the bike. Through a series of short essays, Paul Fournel beautifully evokes the experience and spirit of all aspects of cycling – from the glorious moment of first learning to stay upright on two wheels to the joy of riding with friends; from the delight of on days to the hell of off days; from the Tour de France to tours of landscapes discovered while out riding. Accompanied by illustrations from Jo Burt, these pieces are the story of a love affair not just with the bike, but with everything it represents.”

48 And Counting – A Story Of Money, Love And Bicycling
For a different take on the cycling book theme, former Wall Street Journal columnist Jonathon Clements has written a work of fiction based on a cyclist as Jonathon explains;
My latest book and first novel, 48 and Counting, is now available as a paperback and e-book through Amazon.co.uk, as well as Amazon sites in other countries. As the subtitle suggests, the book is A Story of Money, Love and Bicycling. It traces amateur cyclist Max Whitfield through three eventful seasons as his marriage collapses and he loses control of his business. Unemployed and unsure what to do next, he throws himself into training for a 40-mile bicycle race.
“Clare saw Max rise out of the seat. He was her 48-year-old father and yet, at that moment, he was somebody else entirely. The muscles in his arms were taut. His face and legs glistened with perspiration. As the bike leapt forward and gathered speed, he sat down, shifted into an easier gear and spun the pedals with a controlled fury. For a few brief seconds, the beauty was unmistakable. Max’s bike hurtled past the other two riders. A yawning gap immediately opened up. Max had his chance. He had broken free of the other two, who were now belatedly trying to respond, their suddenly feverish motion signaling how surprised they were. Max was 80 excruciating seconds from the finish line.”
The book talks a little about managing money, which I know a fair amount about from my many years as a financial writer, but it’s mostly about cycling and what the world looks like from middle-age. While this is my first work of fiction, I’ve written four earlier books—all on personal finance—and I spent 18 years at The Wall Street Journal, where I was paper’s the personal-finance columnist.
SBG-32™ Grease
SBG-32™ is a Full-Synthetic, Premium Supreme Performance, Antiwear and Antifriction Lubricating Grease specifically formulated to extend the life of all threaded parts, cables and bearings. SBG-32™ can be used on all nuts, bolts, screws, cables, and especially hubs & bearings. It is non-sticky, has a buttery-soft texture and has excellent resistance to corrosion and rust even under extreme conditions.
SBG-32™ is ABSOLUTELY the BEST grease for both conventional and ceramic bearings. So, if you want a GO-FAST product, this is truly the ONLY grease you will ever need for maintaining your bikes – both motorcycles and bicycles. Two sizes are available; a 2 oz. container for consumers to purchase through your shop, and a 10 oz. container for your mechanics to use on all mechanical needs.
Detailed Product Description:
SBG-32™ uses a polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluid with those of an organo-clay, non-soap thickener. Because the PAO base oil has low traction properties (compared to mineral oil), SBG-32™ offers energy savings through reduced friction and lower torque, and reduced temperatures in the load zone of rolling element bearings. SBG-32™ is an NLGI 1.5 grade with ISO VG 32 base oil.
