If the Italians say it’s cool… .  And even more so when the item not only works as expected, but comes in some bad ass camo coloring with a few nifty features to boot.  You may know Scicon better for their awesome bike bags and travel cases but this small saddlebag lives up to the big bag’s reputations with some cred of its own.  Heavy gauge material and a big zipper make it durable and sturdy.  There’s plenty of room for a tube, cartridge, even a patch kit and a couple small tools too.  But this one comes with two tire levers cleverly hidden in the mount – which clamps easily and securely to the saddle rails with a simple hand operated screw.  It self adjusts to fit neatly out of the way under you.  Comes in 4 cool colors too.

BJRO is a lightweight (88 grams with frame clips) mini pump that inflates up to 7 bar / 100 psi even though it’s small and compact enough to disappear inside a jersey pocket. The special swivel joint screws right onto Presta threads for a better seal, and a unidirectional valve (Schrader and Presta valves).  The body is aluminum while the connecter joints are steel and brass, and it  available in SEVEN different colors and equipped with clips to attach the pump to the frame.

I admire how Rapha is really expanding their fashion offerings – especially in casual off-bike wear like these pants.  The cool blue-teal color ensures you won’t blend in with the crowd, and the double-cotton weave is thicker and makes em more durable than regular cotton pants – which means they are great for most days of the year.  They’ve also used 3% spandex in the main fabric, so there’s a small amount of stretch for added comfort.  They’re great for travel, and the zippered side pocket adds a bit more security. Naturally they offer Rapha’s signature pink details inside the cuffs, waist, and on the back pocket.

Like any good article of clothing – fit is everything, but in my case these fit very well – the drop, hips, cut through the crotch and width of the legs have made ’em a frequent player in my daily wear.

Price is approx US $175 / Cdn $220 and you can buy em online at Rapha.cc here.

What’s stopping you from that Holiday ride (ok – besides your wife and kids…) – ?  The cold weather sure won’t – at least if you’re wearing this base layer by famous Italian brand Nalini.  They use a seamless sewing technology that creates a one piece body that fits like a sock… or glove.  In fact the only seams are at the sleeves and collar, and the super stretchy Cold Moa Medium material is warm and covers like a second skin, so jerseys and jackets fit over it like they should.
