It's unbelievable really, that I can't get connected to the internet in France for 2 whole days... I've got some choice thoughts on la vie francais right now, but I'll save 'em for later. Rest assured, Dear Pez Readers, I'm trying my darndest to get it figured, even if the entire French way of thinking is against me!

Andrea Peron whispers, Dunc talks, Tyler gives us a nod and a wink and Riis just smiles. This was my evening I spent with Andrea Peron and his team CSC after the finish in Morzine and the night before the great Alp d'Huez stage.

"When I look around in the Peleton it looks like a group of rugby players or soldiers coming back from a long war...." These are the words that our Andrea Peron from CSC told me when I spoke with him last night on the phone. He told me his thoughts on the TTT, the low down on Tyler Hamilton and Armstrong.

This is the first of of a series of whispers from inside the Peleton at this year's Tour de France. Our inside man is Andrea Peron, riding his 7th TDF in support of CSC's leader Tyler Hamilton. Andrea is also Armstrong's ex-team mate and "ex-gregario" to Abraham Olano in his best years. He is also an Olympic Silver medalist (100km Team Time Trial). I spoke to Andrea the other day when CSC was checking out the TDF team time trail course...

Finally, July is here, and we can all let Tour fever run through our veins with reckless abandon. Time to dream of Alps and Pyrenees, yellow, green and polka dots, and of course, podium girls dwarfing riders. (Well Dave, go ahead and dream all you want – I’ll be there bucko! - RP)
