Spanish Teams Announce Tour Line-up

Lance Armstrong may get some competition in the Tour from a German, a Colombian or a couple of Italians, but mostly he’s going to have to watch for the Spanish (as usual). Joseba Beloki and the others will be out to show “BIG TEX” a thing or two!

The Spanish teams are as follows:

Kelme/Costa Blanca:
David Latasa, Javier Pascual Llorente, the brothers Quique and Nacho Gutiйrrez, Jesъs Manzano, Toni Tauler, Ivan Parra, David Muсoz, Juliбn Usano has replaced Isaac Gбlvez as he has tendonitis.

New champ Ruben Plaza will not get a start, the riders will be Paco Mancebo, Juan Miguel Mercado, Chente Garcia Acosta, Xabier Zando, Juan Antonio Flecha, Pablo Lastras, Denis Menchov, Vladimir Karpets & Eugeni Petrov.

Iban Mayo, Roberto Laiseka, Haimar Zubeldia, David & Unai Etxebarria, Alberto de Lуpez de Munain, Mikel Artetxe, Iсigo Landaluze & Samuel Sбnchez.

Seсor 2nd. Place, Joseba Beloki will be helped by Mikel Pradera, Marcos Serrano, Josй Azevedo, Jorge Jakshe, Isidro Nosal & Angel Vicioso, the last two places are, Alvaro, not Igor, Gonzбlez de Galdeano & Renй Andrle, Koldo Gil & Jan Hruska will not ride, but were possible.

But not all of the Spanish riders are on home teams, the US Postal Spanish will have their work to look after Lance as will the Coast, sorry Bianchi, Spaniards with Jan Ullrich and the CSC riders for Hamilton. Aitor Gonzбlez (Fassa Bortolo) may show some class, but I think it’s too soon for him. Most teams have a Spanish rider so they should be in the news, as usual.

Spanish on other teams:

US Postal: Heras, Beltran, Rubiera.
Fassa Bortolo: Gonzбlez.
Cofidis: Cuesta, Perez.
CSC: Sastre.
Quickstep: Canada.
Rabobank: Freire.
AG2r: Astarloza, Chaurreau.
Bianchi: Casero, Garcia, Garmendia, Plaza.
