It didn’t take me long to figure out that Yamina would make a great interview for PEZ-fans, and anyone interested in performing better athletically, mentally, in their personal lives or in business.  She’s out going and curious, and interested in the people and the world around her.  My own curiosity first piqued when I learned she once held a World Record for free-diving, and as I quizzed her on that experience I realized how interesting a deeper conversation with her would be.

When she told me she was working on a book debunking three of the most common performance myths – I knew it was time to lock down an interview – because I figured if I found this topic interesting, then you might too. We started out to talking about what possibilities would emerge if we broke through the three performance myths: Winner/Loser, No pain No Gain, and the traditional SMART model, but the conversation lasted for 75 minutes and covered a lot of other but related ground.

I cut our video interview down to 45 mins, and while this might sound like long one – it’s definitely worth watching as I truly believe there is something in here for everyone looking to improve in their cycling, work, daily routine, or some other part of your life.
